Chip-N-Chat: Episode #7

Episode 7: From Augusta to Tacoma

We’re back—and this time, we’ve brought company.

In Episode 7, we welcome our very first guest: Robert Silky, Golf & Business Operations Coordinator at Meadow Park Golf Course in Tacoma, WA. A PGA Member with experience at Gold Mountain, Chambers Bay, and Augusta National, Robert shares his big “why”, what keeps him grounded, and how golf can be a vehicle for leadership, community, and connection.

This episode marks a shift in our style—less polished perfection, more real conversation. You might hear a mic glitch, a bit of echo, or a few unfiltered moments. That’s because it’s Dakota’s first time editing three voices… and also because life doesn’t always come with clean audio.

We talk about:

  • Robert’s path from Augusta to Tacoma

  • Building community through golf operations

  • Storytelling, introspection, and leading with purpose

  • Tournaments and their impact

  • Par, handicap, and the math of play

  • Tangents (Roman Empires, fake ads, and more)

  • Taking up space and learning out loud

This one comes after a short break to care for mental health and family—especially Dakota’s dad, whose love of golf shaped the heart of this show.

We’re learning, growing, and grateful you’re here for it.

Huge thanks to Robert for sharing his story, his insights, and a few laughs along the way—we couldn’t have asked for a better first guest!
